Kevin Heupel
Heupel Law was founded by Kevin D. Heupel. Mr. Heupel has extensive litigation and legal experience. Immediately after law school, Mr. Heupel served as an assistant attorney general for Colorado Attorney Generals Gail Norton and Ken Salazar. Mr. Heupel prosecuted a variety of cases where he honed his litigation and negotiation skills. As a result, Mr. Heupel is well versed in formulating trial strategies to resolve complex cases.
Mr. Heupel primarily practices in the areas of consumer bankruptcy, estate planning, administrative law and professional licensing defense. Mr. Heupel is a popular speaker and presenter at regulatory conferences throughout the United States and an author for a variety of trade magazines.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Heupel was a corporate accountant prior to entering law school. His legal and accounting experience enables him to understand his client's issues in order to find appropriate and practical solutions.

Matt Shimanek
Matt Shimanek has had a diverse legal career. Mr. Shimanek is a licensed attorney in Colorado, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Montana. He has held associate positions in prestigious law firms and public positions in city and county governments. Mr. Shimanek specializes in bankruptcy, collection abuse, foreclosure avoidance, administrative law, and small business issues. Mr. Shimanek has handled a variety of litigation issues in state and federal court. In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Shimanek has held board positions with the Dakota Resource Council and the Citizens for Affordable Renewable Energy.
Andrea Browne
Andrea Browne is the central contact for the clients at Heupel Law. Ms. Browne collects the necessary documents for drafting a petition, answers client questions, and resolves a variety of issues for clients filing bankruptcy. Ms. Browne has ten years of legal experience. Her compassionate demeanor is appreciated by all clients who are filing bankruptcy.
Bob Dickensheets
Bob Dickensheets is a paralegal at Heupel Law and handles all of the Chapter 13 plans, amendments, modifications, and confirmation pleadings. Mr. Dickensheets has worked several years for other bankruptcy and debt negotiation firms. His other interests include skiing, soccer, and international travel.
Drew Bussler
Drew Bussler is a paralegal at Heupel Law who drafts bankruptcy petitions and a variety of legal motions. Mr. Bussler has a broad range of experience ranging from insurance, financial products, and health care before joining Heupel Law. Mr. Bussler is fluent in Spanish and enjoys playing competitive basketball.
Mike Rhue
Mike Rhue is a bankruptcy consultant who provides options to clients who are considering bankruptcy. Mr. Rhue has been a paralegal with other bankruptcy firms before joining Heupel Law. Prior to joining the legal world, Mr. Rhue was the Pitching Coach for the University of Northern Colorado and played minor league baseball for several years.
Nancy Heupel
Nancy Heupel is a paralegal responsible for filing bankruptcy petitions with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and handles a variety of the day-to-day issues that arise. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Heupel was a nationally recognized expert in the field of cosmetology safety and regulation compliance. To this day, she is a regular speaker at nationwide conferences.
